wearing snakeskin and leopard print together because i have absolutely no shame... or no taste whatsoever. i'm going with the latter.

it's been stupidly cold and rainy for the past few days (when i say cold, i mean in the 40's... i know that's basically summer to most of you right now, so please don't internet bitch slap me for being a spoiled so-cal girl). i have absolutely NO IDEA how to dress warmly... my idea of warm is covering 3/4 of my body instead of the usual 1/4. not smart, not smart at all. at least bars are warm inside.

wore this to go drink wine and eat a massive veggie burger in silverlake instead of finishing editing photos... which i need to do right about... now.

LATIN LOVER

i have been completely obsessed with and enamored by frida kahlo for as long as i can remember... i truly couldn't even tell you why, but every time i see her or one of her paintings, it does something so indescribable to me. i was lucky enough to see her exhibit at the sf moma a few years back, and it was absolutely astonishing. while browsing fashion gone rogue, i stumbled upon this editorial and nearly lost consciousness. after forcing my roommate to drool over every photo with me, i'm still scrolling up and down, unable to get enough. i cannot believe how well this was executed, how flawlessly they modernized the bright color and somber moods of her paintings and her own appearance... i could go on and on, but i'll just let the photos speak for themselves. i couldn't choose just a couple, i love them all so much. who on earth could ever say that fashion is not art?

*wasteland printed cardigan, slinky green dress from a random little shop downtown, 70's elf booties from the garment district, forever 21 orange necklace, turquoise slave bracelet from mexico, and a chopped up piece of fabric tied around my head, as i lack in the hat department.

not sure if it's appropriate to wear two ridiculously slinky and stretchy things together, but i couldn't resist this color combo- puke green is probably my favorite color of all time. i love those horrible vintage couches with mustard/puke green/burnt orange floral prints covering them... i'd wallpaper my apartment in a similar fabric if i could.

i call these shoes my 70's elf booties. love 'em.

new crystallized vintage stock is in the shop! we had too much new stock to shoot in one day, so the rest of the dresses and tops are coming later this week. we tried out one of the other backgrounds in the studio and i think i like it... silver walls are a-okay in my book.

THE OUTFIT I'M NOT WEARING TONIGHT

forcing myself to stay in tonight is proving to be much harder than i expected. practicing self control. sucking at it. the house party down the street is calling my name... must. not. give. in. my neighborhood is too fun to stay home! wah wah wah.

well anyway, if i WAS going out, i'd wear something like this little outfit i just put together for no reason at all... other than to tease myself that i'm actually not going to be wearing it tonight.

SALEM

for some reason, even if i LOVE a band, i never really look into their bio very much, let alone look for photos of them. i sort of like the mystery of not knowing what they look like or what they're all about- and liking the music for the music alone. well, out of hardcore curiosity, i had to image search the band salem... their music is SO dark and creepy and every time it comes on my ipod's shuffle i feel like i am locked in a dungeon or lost in a cemetery... it a good way. well, i was totally enamored with their photos- they've got serious swagger to match their seriously intoxicating music.
