*cult by lip service jacket, tie dyed shirt dress from garment district, harley boots, necklace from random store in LA.

these photos are from last week. i'm leaving for san francisco tomorrow until thursday, to spend my birthday out of this smoggy city.

[my instagram is the only thing i consistently update lately]

“The elders have sent me to tell you that now is like a rushing river, and this will be experienced in many different ways. There are those who would hold onto the shore… there is no shore. The shore is crumbling. Push off into the middle of the river. Keep your head above the water, look around to see who else is in the river with you, and celebrate.”

madeline and i just got back at 3am last night from an unbelievably magical weekend trip to san francisco. i definitely feel like i left my heart there (i've been falling madly in love with the city consistently over the last year), and waking up to this tunnel vision video directed, shot, and edited by lamson just made me burst into tears due to my already hyper-emotional state. i'm so lucky to have all of the people involved in this video in my life and to have something this visually beautiful that represents what madelineisabel, and i put our sweat and tears into.
thank you so fucking much:

A few months back I mentioned starting a reoccurring post which spotlights my talented friends, because I'm a huge believer that creative types should all help each other and/or collaborate instead of competing and/or focusing all attention on one's self. I'd like to try to do this once every two weeks or so. There's no better way to start than with my unbelievably talented friend of almost ten years, Eric Saeter.

*eric saeter jewelry and painting via facebook

Eric lives and works in Seattle, and by works, I mean he creates some of the most beautiful pieces of art that I've ever laid eyes on, ranging from but not limited to: jewelry, paintings, longboards, pottery, clothing, rugs, photography, motorcycles, bicycles, songs, poetry, writing, etc, etc, etc.

It upsets me to no end that TRUE talented-to-the-bone artists are barely getting by, creating masterpiece after masterpiece while remaining just unnoticed enough not to be making a decent living, despite their best efforts. Based off of talent and intellect alone, Eric should be a billionaire. It astonishes me that his artwork isn't plastered on billboards and magazine ads all over the world, but I suppose that's just one thing on an endless list of issues that I don't understand.

That little rant stems from seeing so many people I know not get the recognition and success they deserve, and so many UNDESERVING people getting more recognition and success than they know what to do with. It's such a tragedy, and if I can have the tiniest part in helping to spread the word about these amazing people, then I'm going to do it. If you enjoy the people I post about, REPOST! That's what blogs are for! We need to take the camera off of ourselves and turn it onto other people once in awhile.

If you're interested in owning a piece of stunning jewelry created by Eric, visit his website here or his Facebook page here.

i can't believe it's finally happening ONE YEAR LATER... we're going to be selling our Bad Vibes collection on a pre-order basis, at last! these ridiculous exaggerated bellbottoms were the last piece to be made, and i'll never forget walking into the fabric store with madeline and both of us racing to the back to hug this roll of beautiful fabric. i wish i could cover my bedroom walls in it.

more to come soon!

*Cult by Lip Service dress, Kill City Harness, Enaia's hat and boots, Madeline's necklace.

this night was by far one of my favorite/most random nights at my house. mad and isabel came over to play dress up in kill city/lip service threads (how perfect is this Cult by Lip Service dress?!), and it somehow ended up with all of us in my bedroom doing this:

Sea drinking beer on the floor.

Isabel eating cereal out of a coffee cup.

and mad eating mac n' cheese straight out of the pot.

i have never seen a picture that captures madeline's true self so perfectly. van halen shirt + eating macaroni and cheese out of a vintage pot with a wooden spoon + black lipstick + russian hat. i just wanted to keep taking pictures of her because it was the best thing i've ever seen.
i love these perfect food-obsessed creatures.

also, thank you to Foam Magazine for making me their Blogger of the Week!! you can read my interview here.
