A few months back I mentioned starting a reoccurring post which spotlights my talented friends, because I'm a huge believer that creative types should all help each other and/or collaborate instead of competing and/or focusing all attention on one's self. I'd like to try to do this once every two weeks or so. There's no better way to start than with my unbelievably talented friend of almost ten years,

Eric lives and works in Seattle, and by works, I mean he creates some of the most beautiful pieces of art that I've ever laid eyes on, ranging from but not limited to: jewelry, paintings, longboards, pottery, clothing, rugs, photography, motorcycles, bicycles, songs, poetry, writing, etc, etc, etc.
It upsets me to no end that TRUE talented-to-the-bone artists are barely getting by, creating masterpiece after masterpiece while remaining just unnoticed enough not to be making a decent living, despite their best efforts. Based off of talent and intellect alone, Eric should be a billionaire. It astonishes me that his artwork isn't plastered on billboards and magazine ads all over the world, but I suppose that's just one thing on an endless list of issues that I don't understand.
That little rant stems from seeing so many people I know not get the recognition and success they deserve, and so many UNDESERVING people getting more recognition and success than they know what to do with. It's such a tragedy, and if I can have the tiniest part in helping to spread the word about these amazing people, then I'm going to do it. If you enjoy the people I post about, REPOST! That's what blogs are for! We need to take the camera off of ourselves and turn it onto other people once in awhile.
